me0i79 @ 11/6/2013 4:36:03 PM - When you say Covington please remember the incident was in Covington but was a St. Paul vs Mandeville game.
565656 @ 11/5/2013 3:02:18 AM - Watched the St. Paul's v Covington game on TV the other night (available on you tube " channel 13 st Tammany " ) if I am not mistaken , I think brumfield got kicked out of game sometime in 3 rd qtr . In the words of channel 13's Tiger Edwards , "WOW!"
565656 @ 11/5/2013 2:56:55 AM - When did div I vball playoffs change from a 32 team field to 24 ? Has if always been like this ?
565656 @ 11/4/2013 10:01:35 PM - I was at that game by the way , sat in the brand new east upper deck which opened that night . I think they played West Carolina . Always sounded like the 51st state to me .
565656 @ 11/4/2013 9:53:07 PM - I have not researched this , but I bet there are more high school teams with tigers and bulldogs mascots than anything else . I met the Fontainebleau  mascot last Friday night , he/she ( not a real bulldog , student in costume like that big dog Ralph in the coyote cartoons) was doing a great job . I got to do the classic fake fight routine with "Spike" , then make up with bro hugs after . All the time , Spike never said a word and stayed in character . Good boy/girl Spike , good boy/girl !
565656 @ 11/4/2013 9:40:43 PM - This is a bit of a stretch for a salmen thread , but here goes. I was watching former salmen coach bill Stubbs on TV the other night . He was coaching his riverside team against Newman . The game reminded me of my old high school playing days in the 70's because the riverside field still had the light standards on the field and not behind the stands . For most of the night the TV screen looked like the NFL Redzone double box with the poles splitting the screen in two. Those old lights on the field would occasionally break and burst into flame showering all below in a warm glassy snow . Good times.
