By The Chronicle
Mossyrock -- The Vikings just couldn't seem to find their grove as Mossyrock was upset by Columbia Adventist 60-56 here Monday night in Central 2B League boys basketball action.
"I feel like we were too busy looking ahead. We weren't mentally prepared," said Mossyrock coach Chad Mitchell. "I feel like Scott Wedam was the only one to show up ready to play tonight."
Wedam led all scorers with 29 points.
Defensively, Mossyrock was able to contain Columbia Adventist's leading scorer Cory Phipps-Davisson (26 points per game) with just five points. However, Mossyrock had no answer for Jeff Ashton, who led the Kodiaks in scoring with 26 points.
"Ashton couldn't miss tonight. He shot 11-of-18 from the field," said coach Mitchell.
The loss drops the Vikings to 12-3 in league play and 12-5 overall. CA is 6-9 in league.
The Vikings will travel to Napavine tonight.
Trojans Turn Out Light
PE Ell --€¯Pe Ell kicked up the defensive intensity in the second quarter, which fueled the Trojans' offense in a 71-36 C2BL victory over Vancouver Christian here Monday night.
Pe Ell had a slim 11-8 lead after one quarter, but outscored the Light 22-5 in the second period to take command.
"We picked it up defensively in the second quarter and we started getting some ball movement," said Pe Ell coach Clayburn Lusk.
Hank Robinson had a big night with 21 points, 10 rebounds, eight steals and seven assists. Dylan Toepelt also had a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Tanner Lusk also chipped in 14 points.

Pirate Ball: Doesn't appear to me, that The Chronicle can with any consistency, report a game story in a factual manner. The story below is Take Number Two by The Chronicle. Wonder if this one will stick? Hope The Chronicle can get a handle on the Central 2B League Standings before the 1st District Game is in session on Monday.

Does anybody know the tie breaker system for district seeding?
What if two teams have identical records and split during the season?

South Bend beat Raymond 59-44. Raymond was without two of their leading scores (for disciplinary) reasons and still managed to keep the game close. They were only down 2 heading into the 4th quarter but could manage only 4 points in the quarter, maybe 6 I forget.
