GranbyNW,
Is Rick going to send the html files for brackets, team scores, etc to Gilbertson at WWR?  A posting of results here would require much typing, but would be greatly appreciated.

Selkirk has some very impressive Wrestlers who simply are not bothered by opponents with outstanding records.  They listen, intently to Coaches Sax and Hoffman and "do not stop moving"!  We (Oroville) were very fortunate to build and early lead on them.  Also keep in mind that some of these Selkirk kids are first-year wrestlers and/or frosh with very little experience.

Yes Selkirk did a very good job, I am the wife of Coach Saxe & the mother of 2 of his wrestlers, we are very proud of the team.  We want to thank all the parents, our present & past wrestlers, and our family &  friends that have helped get this team it where it is.  Selkirk didn't have a program for 10 years and now this is our 5th season as a team--and only our 3rd being able to participate in post season,  We have came along way.  My husband Keith & his assistant coach Rob work very hard with these kids and these wrestlers have worked hard to get where they are.  Thank all of you that have written good things about this team.  See  you at regionals & state.

You guys should be extremely proud..  What an awesome deal..  All those days of dragging those boys to the Mat Rat Tournaments when they were younger is paying off..

I know many of the Ranger wrestlers have competed against the likes of the Republic wrestlers for many years growing up..

The Ranger Wrestling Team has had to overcome so many obstacles with the Selkirk Administration and have had to prove themselves over and over  the last few years.  These kids, coaches and families have such heart. The coaches wife has made probably over 100 cakes to raffle off, they have raffled cut-outs, etc., in order to buy warm-ups, uniforms, t-shirts and whatever else they need.  They have done this all on their own.  The NOPV Lions Club donated a new set of scales this year because the scales they had last year probably cost a wrestler a chance at State.  Some of the kids don't have alot of money and no parental support so Coach Saxe ,his wife and Coach Hoffman pick up the tab and have for years so these kids can wrestle.  They are more like a family and the community is very proud of them.

GO WRESTLING RANGERS.

Saw Selkirk a couple weeks back in Wilbur and they had their arms raised after matches more times that not. Good to see them do well at Oroville but looks like the 'Cats did all right also. How many go on to regionals? Guessing five? This Saturday will have some excellent matches with winners being state favorites in many classes as this region best in state!! Good luck to all grabblers!!

To Selkirk,

I remember about 6 years ago going to watch the varsity at Reardan wrestle, all 7 of them.  They battled so hard.  The night earlier I was at the first Little guys practice and 80 plus kids were there.  Dozens of parents watched and the 8th grade class had 17 kids who would probably wrestle though a couple good ones were thinking of basketball.  All of them eventually chose wrestling and 3 years later became the main part of a state team title.  Hearing your feelings through these messages, all the cakes, t-shirts, fund raisers, trips to far off places, workouts, etc.....  When my son the next year after winning state ran up the steps and picked me up in his massive arms and said "We did it Papa" all that stuff was nothing to what we had experienced in that moment.  You guys are on your way, and all your work will make it that much better.   Good luck.   Papa
