What are the tough squads out of the District 5/6 league?

La Salle was forced out so I guess you are left with White Swan! With that being said the league is well balanced.....

Uhhh nobody. Fundamentals of football are completely absent in this league. Wish is right. the league is well balanced due to very poor coaching across the board. The kids are as good as anywhere else. But all the coaches know is what they see on TV. The kids are big, heavy legged, bright. Coaching is a huge problem in this league. As I am sure it is as Lake Roosevelt. Sorry u won't get a break here.

La Salle definitly not forced out . Poor coaching , opinions are like _ holes everyones got one. To many variables to say it"s the coaches. Granted there are good coaches and not so good . But to say the  whole league has poor coaching thats a little far out there.

La Salle may have not been forced out but, the crap spewed about La Salle and Riverside Christian has been incredible over the years. The AD's of the NCW are so weak and always look for the easy way out. The private schools have no more advantage then the rest, you still have to prepare, dress and play. Jack and Scott have built tremendous programs by rolling up thier sleeves and working. I know Scott is no longer at RSC and Jack will be just fine in the SCAC. The coaching in the NCW is questionable at some of the schools, having worked in the league at another time can only hope for the kids sake that it will improve.

LaSalle is going to get pounded in the SCAC, they'll finish in the upper middle of the pack. No offense to Adna or my Bulldogs but no way either could have hung with Connell last year for even a quarter and this year the Eagles will be better. I'd expect Royal to bounce back from what was for them a sub-par year. Zillah will be pretty strong and some others in the SCAC are looking to be at a high water quality wise. This is going to be a tough year in the SCAC and LaSalle just isn't going to be competetive with the top third.

Connell should be better than last year.. They tore up their own team camp they held with some alright talent. They will be solid for sure..

La Salle will have to really jump up a level to compete this year in the SCAC.. Don't know if they are ready..


Where did Scott go if not at RCS??

I didn't say that La Salle would win the SCAC, I said they would do just fine....Sounds like someone is a bit touchy? Scott is now at IKE I've been told.

My old connection, who was a good one, at La  Salle said their goal was to be 2A within 5 years..  I think this move was planned..

Old Pirate, I don't think Phil hung it up but, I would say his staff got better......BigBee, I taught and coached for one of your schools for nearly twenty years, I heard the whine and the wimpers.....can I offer you some cheese?

To go from a 2B to a 2A in five years is a pretty bold!

AB Murphy didn't even do it that fast.  

One could only hope the economy would cooperate a bit in order for that plan to have a fighting chance....

They have been around longer than 5 years.. 

It wasn't going to be a straight jump.. Just as ATM went from 1A to 2A..  They will slowly move up..  Of course, I am going to guess enrollment increases will mean a lot as well.

I would hazard a guess that BSF has either not observed a game in this league, is a coach in this league, or knows jack about football. It's nearly criminal how things are handled in this league. Kids tackling with heads down, no offensive or defensive fundementals. Really a horrible situation. Say what you want but this league shoudn't even exist. Horrible management by the districts for sure.

I have a few thoughts but our kids really weren't that much better than a few of the teams but our coach is/was. This is probably the one league where the westside could help the east with coaching. LaSalle beat a physically superior Kittitas team but on the other hand we had THE coach. NCW2b needs coaching bad, across the board. JMHO but the districts need to get their poo together. The kids in this league, from what I have seen, aren't terrible atheletes at all.

Mac,
I have seen a few games in this league and I,m not a coach. You seem to want to blame the coaches ,so I ask you this? How many players are in the wieght room over the summer?or do they just show up the first day of practice? How many play more than one sport? Playing more than one makes for a better athlete IMO. How many start a sport the quite? While i agree with you there are some great athletes in this league,you still need dedication from a high % of the players on a team to be sucessful.Also the players need to believe in thier coaches. which can be hard if there hearing from thier parents the coaches are no good.

Bsport, There has been and probaply still are some outstanding multi-athletes in the NCWB, there are also some good coaches. With this being said the league is dominated by the touchy feelies in administrative positions, who have infiltrated all levels of academics. Discpline at my former school left in the late nineties, competition was deemed bad.  The good coaches and teachers run out of town because they were too hard or expectations too high.  I will add this political statement as well, the domination of all areas by our so called union (NEA)doesn't help either. When GOD, Country and American exceptionalism is deemed bad you can only head down.   Those that feel religion is bad then let us believe in our country aand all the good we do..
