I wish it were Spiller. Lynch isn't anything special so at best a modest upgrade at the cost of draft picks needed to rebuild. Seriously, I don't see where this makes them a better team. I guess it adds to depth at mediocrity... If they wanted to help the running game how about a run blocking tackle… They need a game changer on offense and SOB on the front seven not another average player.

Okung was a waste.... just like Curry.

Hopefully Pete will start getting decent drafts picks. They need to release J. Jones.

They also need a QB in a bad way. I'd love to see them get Andrew Luck.

Sam Bradford would sure look good in a Seahawk uniform. I was very impressed with him last Sunday.

Hasselquack is starting to show his age and all the hits he has absorbed the last couple of years. Luck would be an awesome pickup.

Lynch is a good back, unfortunately the Hawks O-Line play is so poor that
it won't matter who they have running the ball. Hutch, where are you when
we need you??? Oh that's right - Minnesota.

"Okung was a waste" - I wouldn't go that far, he'll be a good OT, not HoF but a few Pro Bowls over his career. He'll be a second tare left tackle. The problem is they could have gotten the same level with a second or third round pick and could have gotten more with their first first rounder. Okung is young and he has some technique issues to work on and he needs to adapt to not being just physically better than the DE across from him.

"Lynch is a good back" - And so are about 30-40 other NFL backs. Sure, if he has holes to run through he could be a 1,000-1,200 yard rusher but again so could about 30 or so other NFL backs, he's middle of the pack. If they were going to go after a back they should have tried to get one of Carolina's. I'd love to see Stewart back in Washington. But unless Sanders comes out of retirement to Seattle or Bo Jackson is cloned by Microsoft the Hawks need to get something that can pass for an NFL offensive line up and running before worrying about getting a power back like Lynch.

Listening to sports radio on the way home and there are some people pretty excited about Lynch coming to town,

A Steven Jackson type runner? 215 and likes to put the hit on the defender first and get that extra couple of yards.

I see they did let JJ go to make room for him, good move imo.

The O line is a work in progress and they need to get that fixed first and foremost. They looked terrible against the Rams. I will say that the rams defense seemed to know what the Seahawks were going to do before the Seahawks did. What's up with that?

That's what I don't get, how does Lynch fit with what Carroll's trying to do? How does this trade make the Hawks better? They're problem isn't that they don't have runners that get north and south between the tackles, and Lynch is pretty good at that, it's that other teams can defend Seattle's blocking with seven in the box, even in nickle situations. And wasn't one of the big knocks on Lynch at the Bills that he wasn't a good pass blocker?

I don't know, he might be a better back or added depth but I'm still not sure how that makes them a better team at this point. Seattle's issue aren't all with the parts, some of their problem is in the sum of those parts. I just don't see what Carroll is building, what his "Here is what we are and here is how we're going to beat you' is.

lol - This is hilarious. Don't know too much about Leinert but I think Whiz gave him a raw deal and am glad to see this blowing up in Arizona's face.

Rookie QB Hall to start for Arizona against Saints

1) Leinart was given every chance to succeed. 2) Leinart has had three opportunities as THE starter, two of them with a good deal more talent than the average NFL QB has around them. 3) Leinart never developed into a competent NFL QB.

No it isn’t his fault, he just couldn’t do many of the things an NFL QB needs to be able to do for his team to be successful. Not a personal slight, it just is what it is. What were the Cards supposed to do? Bring in another top shelf QB at the end of their carrier and give him another four or five years to develop into something more than a very poor QB? Are you guys saying that your employer would keep you employed bagging groceries if you couldn't fill a bag in under ten minutes without crushing bread and breaking eggs after years of being mentored by a Hall of Fame bag boy? This was Leinart's year, this was his perfect chance, this was the season that if he had NFL in him it would show. It didn't work out, too bad so sad, but he still has a very nice life provided him just for trying his best and failing. Not many of us can say that.

The NFL isn't about fairness, isn't about loyalty, isn't about helping players' inner child, those things only happen if they affect the bottom line not for the player's sake. The NFL is about $$$ first with winning being a means to that end. Leinart neither helped the Cards win nor make more $$$. If'n I owned or managed the team I'd have gotten rid of him after the third pre-season game. Nothing personal but the NFL isn't a sport, it is a business.

I disagree, he came into preseason as THE MAN, it was his team. He was abysmal, absolutely abysmal. And if I recall he lost his job to Warner, who was brought in to back him up, on the field. I thought this was going to be Leinart's breakout year (look back I said it on here), he was older and had a HoF QB to learn from, not totally unlike Young taking over for Montana. But Leinart either didn't learn or was unable to mentally grasp what he should have learned from Warner. Leinart plays confused and worse scared; the game happens way WAY too fast for him. I just don’t believe the things he still lacks are things that can be taught. Sorry and best of luck to him as a backup in TX but if he couldn't develop in his years in AZ I don't see him becoming more in TX. I'm just glad he didn't end up in Seattle for yet another draft pick.

In the NFL Leinart plays like a boy amongst men.

Leinhart was not a Wisenhunt draft pick he was a Denny Green pick.

Whisenhunt did not have to justify Leinhart as number 1 pick so he got rid of him.

I'll say it again. Leinert wasn't Whiz's boy and Whiz kid never gave him a chance. The play calling in the 2 preseason games were setup for him to fail.

If you think this rookie is going to give then a better chance to win than Leinert would have you're losing it col.

Leinert will be a servicable QB in this league someday.
