Not having access to clever graphics at the moment, I can't post the picture of me pondering the suck-swallow bit.

I'm hoping that didn't totally tap your creative flow.

In fact, I KNOW you can do better than that!

All this Seahawks talk makes me nauseous. GO BEARS! - fbc

Speaking of wagers.

Sunday October 17th Flyin Bull Coug, at Chicago.

I propose a gentlemans wager. The winner picks the losers avatar and the loser (you) have to use it for 2 weeks.

The Bears are so great that my Seahawks surely don't stand a chance so Seahawks -6 sounds about right?

How does this one look?

You're going to be seeing a lot of this.

MWP

If the Hawks were ever to bring D. Jackson back I promise I will become an Oakland Raider fan. Let's discuss this wager a bit more in person. By the way... Did we bet our usual Bottle 'O Booze on the Mariners finishing above .500 for the season??? If so, I like Bazel Hayden Bourbon.

Did you pay me for last season? You probably did and it got drank by Paul. Bazel Hayden? That's like Monarch right? All I have is Old Granddad and a pint of Mad Dog 20/20 Grape-flavored wine. Will that work?

Pirate Ball,

YOU'RE ON! Oh, you're going to love your new avatar!

BTW - I'm glad you found the sole Hawks highlight from that game. How'd that one turnout for you?

Excellent, sounds like we have a bet.

Your Bears are getting pretty long in the tooth and the Hawks are in rebuilding mode.

Here's to a great game.

GO HAWKS!

What's this quitter even doing on the team?

seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/seahawksblog/2012576895_surprisinglytjhoushmandzadehstillnothappywith2009.html

The culprit, [Houshmandzadeh] believes, was a combination of former coordinator Greg Knapp's offense, which was explicitly designed not to favor one pass-catcher over another, and his own inability to stay mentally strong in the face of mounting disappointment.

Get paid millions to play the greatest game in the world, and still have trouble staying "mentally strong"?????????

seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/seahawks/2012589166_hawk11.html

yet another Seachicken who "vows" to play better this season.

What does "play better" really mean? When I hear this, I instantly think it means "play harder." If this is the case.... why this season?

Now we have Neon Deion, TJ houshyomomma, and Overrated (aka Currey) say they will be playing better this season because it is more important? A loser is a loser.... there is no turning back. Once a player starts down that road of quitting, it is nearly impossible to turn back.

Really..... I'd rather have one of these jokers just come out and say, "we're gonna suck, I'm not going to lie."

Well, playing better in the Hawk's case doesn't necessitate playing well.

I’d hope by “playing better” they mean they’ve hired a high school coach to work with them on the basics of blocking and tackling. Really, though no high school kid could come close matching up physically the vast majority of high schoolers on top ten caliber teams exhibit better tackling fundamentals. I’m sick to death of Hawk DBs hip checking in the hopes that runners will trip over them out of bounds and linebackers breaking down five yards too early and waiting for a runner to come to them.

And will someone buy the O-line a set of toes so they don’t have to play the whole game on their heals?

Vince Lombardi; “Dancing is a contact sport, Football is a hitting sport."; “Some people try to find things in this game that don't exist but football is only two things - blocking and tackling.”

I heard a Hasselbeck interview on the radio the other day and he seems pretty pumped.

All Pete is asking of his players is to maximize their potential and be the best player they can be. It seems like from what I heard the guys are buying into it.

Well I hope it works but I still have to ask at $1,000,000 or so per season why weren't you already bought in? You get to make a top 3% living playing a sport you must dearly love to have gotten that good at and have to know you're living a good portion of the population's fantasy and you still need motivation not suck? Rather than expect pats on the back for saying you're going to be more focused, put in more preparation sweat and hold nothing back they should be apologizing for taking the fan's hard worked for money and putting out less than their best effort in the past. What is there to 'buy in'? You've already been paid for.

And that is exactly why San Fran will end up owning the NFC West over the next decade; Character. Seattle has a bunch of selfish athletes on the roster while the 49'ers, whom I hate, aren't "buying in to the team"; they're selling out for the team. You look at the Niners and can see what they want to be and how they plan to become that. You look at the SeaSquaks and tell me what they are trying to become and how they're planing on becoming that.
