This is bs sports reporter with a special edition of the C2BL Report.
You’ve heard by now that Napavine school officials have decided to cancel the next 4 JV football games because of a lack of players. Head football coach Josh Fay is reportedly not as worried about the lack of playing experience for his young players as he is about how the decision might affect recruiting! Inside sources are saying that at least 1 prized recruit has rescinded his verbal commitment to attend the school next fall! Athletic departments at both Onalaska and South Bend are presumably thrilled with the decision. More on this story as it develops.
The news out of Adna is that Transalta officials have asked that the new stadium be named Transalta Field, in honor of the generous donation they made to the project (instead of giving the money to the government in taxes). No word yet on whether Adna school officials plan to allow new moles to infest the field or transport the old ones from “The Hill”. I’ll keep you posted.
Nothing has changed in Vancouver, except that VC coaches have taken to laying 22 uniforms on the locker room floor and are praying for God to fill them. If you still have VC on your schedule, you might want to join them. But a word to the wise, pray specifically for freshmen and sophomores, not juniors and seniors.
Well, it was bound to happen sooner or later. With the early success of the football team and anticipation of future success in other sports, residents of the MWP school districts are asking the schools to change the acronym to MMGKRP and sometimes R to reflect all the communities involved in the school districts. For you people on the east side of the state, that’s Morton, Mineral, Glenoma, Kosmos, Randle, Packwood and sometimes Riffe (when the lake is low enough).
Campbell’s Soup, of all places, has volunteered to help MMGKRP fill the vacancy in their schedule should Vancouver Christian forfeit to them later this year. At this very moment officials from Campbell’s are meeting with the athletic directors from ACH and TOR in an effort to schedule a game. Campbell’s has agreed to pay all costs including rental of a neutral field and travel expenses for both co-ops in exchange for advertising rights for the game. They plan to dub the event the Alphabet Soup Bowl. (Some of you knew where I was going with this, didn’t you?)
Be sure and check in Monday for the regularly scheduled edition of the C2BL Report.
