Long day in Napavine. Twin City Youth wrestling tourny today- all day long! Money maker for Napa. Adna did just fine with 3gold medals up to 8yrs age and I believe 7 gold medals 9 and up. Lots of great matches, was fun to watch all those kids. Participants were Adna,Chehalis,Centralia,Napavine,Onalaska,Winlock/Toledo,Willipa harbor and Rochester.
Somewhere over 200 kids I would think. Maybe somebody on here could clairify that number and add to this.

Lineman;
It was a long day at the youth tournament in Napavine. All together Adna came home with 10 first place medals, 11 second place medals and 14 third place medals. We did very well considering there was a lot of talented kids there and a big portion of our kids ended up being paired against each other. Thanks for the support.

Toughest Tournament we have been in this season with Tonasket and Omak Varsity teams showing their "A" muscle.  Kittitas is very well coached from head to toe and could be the only B team in the state to give Warden some grief.

I don't know all the formalities in this sport but for the last few years, I've been watching the Kittitas team. My
observation and it's not much,  is that they have a full wrestling program from top to bottom. I have been down
on the mat taking pictures and I love the way those coaches interact with the kids. It's positive, resourceful and
disciplined all at the same time. You can tell that the kids really care about what the coaches have to say...and
they listen! It's clear they have earned respect form the kids and in today's society, most of us know how hard
that is to accomplish that task. They don't try to degrade, belittle or destroy what if any confidence the kids
have but work on the positives and they're strengths.

Even though I'm a Reardan Die-hard-fan and I don't know much about Wardens program,  I'm not trying to
take away from it. I think Kittias has what it takes and would expect them to be the main contenders in the
dome this year coming February.

Meldred:  Johnson, Eylar, and Hyatt are indeed everything you say and more.  Marc Eylar, is the son of Frank Eylar who coached for many, many years at Okagonan.  I had the opportunity to chat with Marc at the Davenport tournament.  He told me they, Kittitas, had only 20-ish out this year but did not have to worry about any of the kids' eligibility.  Can you name one other coach in this state that can make that statement?

Honestly, I don't know one who would, so not to jinx themselves, lol! But it's nice to know that there
are good teams out there and the competition improves within the "B" level. Having Warden drop
down to B's will only help this league improve and gain the respect it deserves. When I was at
Tri State, I was sitting next to a 4A team. When ever a kid came up and stated he won his match,
all the kids would tease him and say he only won because he wrestled a "B" school.
