Specifics on the veer.  Scroll down and read the roll it's playing in highschool football now vs. the past..

Regardless, it sure paid off this year..

To run option football successfully you do not need a big line, you do have to believe in it heart and soul. If you are a control freak or squeamish don't run it. The key is quarterback and fullback and a coach who will give it the time it needs in practice. One who is willing to give some freedom to the QB; something most of you are unwilling to do. Its a "Team Offense" that require rep after rep. Its an attacking offense, very aggressive, and at times down right nasty.  If you are willing, it will also make your defense better just by keeping the other guy away from the ball! Finally, if you are the odd ball running true option football, you can drive every DC nuts trying to teach kids responsibility.

Wishbone 1, what do you do if your QB and FB are brothers?  Half the time their about ready to brawl over who gets the ball.  Actually they are slowly picking it up and if the fullback brother stays healthy next season they should run it about as good as anyone.  I do like some of things K.C. did with the bone at Adna.  That QB sweep and playside counter to the halfback were nice.

Thanks for the correction Epic.  I knew I read that somewhere recently, just forgot where and obviously, what offense.

Ol Comet sounds like you have it made, they should be the number one and two rushers. I prefer multiple looks but I have been in  Bone, I, split backs, wings and it never changes QB has a few more carries then the fullback, the fullback a few more yards. The wings get big plays and seem to whine just a little but, they are all happy with team success.

That's great to hear big maxx. The coaches were told at our all-league meeting that most likely due to numbers NWC would not be able to field a team.  Is their a new coach yet?

Re to old comet: One of our assistant coaches is going to be the head coach. We had an interest meeting at school about a week ago and had about 30 kids there so there is hope for a senior season.

Big Maxx,

That's good news!  NWC has brought stiffer competition to the Pacific every year since their beginning.  I've watched them slowly climb the ladder in our area and it will only strengthen D4 if they can hang in there.

It may be a while before you can contend with the heavy weights in the Pacifc but recently you've challenged them and if this trend continues, you never know.....

" where'd fulton go?  he seemed to do a good job..."

He retired, sadly...
Our new Coach Ben Briggs will bring a tough mentality to the team; we're looking to strongly compete in the pacific league.

Loosing all those seniors inevitably, puts you in build mode but still will just about guarantee you a crossover game.  As for  the rest of the story,  good luck from there.

I'd sure like to hear someone's opinion of the North next season.

The best you can, number 1 through ??? and a few reasons why.   Your best guess will suffice.  Thanks......

"I'd sure like to hear someone's opinion of the North next season."

I can't tell you too much, but it looks to be a two team race with Orcas and TB. Orcas only loses 4 seniors starters I believe and TB has 17 returning starters.

Is their any new, news on the District 4 coaching carousel?  I see NWC hired a assistant from last year.  Did Raymond get their guy hired yet.  How about Mossyrock and PeEll.  Any others I'm missing?  I hear their are a lot at the A level in our district.  Toledo, Castle Rock, Stevenson to name a few.  I think I heard Rochester's also.

Correction... Adna is only losing 2 starting players. Connor Moon and Tyler Dotson. JR Siperly is only a Junior this year. The News Papers has his grade and age all wrong.

Yep, they hired from within.

Sounds like he has a great group to work with the next few years.
