You picked a good quarter to step out. Unless you enjoy drives that fizzle out.

Yes, very loud. My best memory of the noise was in the Kingdome vs. The Broncos for the AFC West tiltle. It was already loud and Elway was sacked for a huge loss. To this day I swear you could actually see the noise and the Wave was virtually non stop.

During the boring third quarter, found myself wishing The State Title Game was held at The Clink.

worst reason I have heard so far for not paying lynch..

"he runs to hard and physical to last for many more years"

???????

I understand the word "to" and the word "hard" and the word "physical" but you put them in a sentence together and its just jibberish.

If you sign him for 5 and he gives you 3 good years than its money well spent. He is not shawn alexander, if Marshawn had 2005's O-line then "fogetaboudit". Hes doing what he is with a dismantled line.

I say pay the man, what say you?

Pay him and hope he continues what he's doing. For sure, if Lynch ran behind Hutch and Jones, even the officiating crew in The Super Bowl wouldn't have stopped him. Anyone notice some of the bs calls Monday and a familiar face in black and white from a certain Sunday in 06?

The Hawks got some bad calls but that happens to all the teams over time...most of the penalties this season are their own fault.

5 of 6 now!   Okay, the SeaHacks are still only 7-7, and are on life support for the playoffs, but what a second half!  And here's the story for the Bears:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=avRHH9uAL4Q

Seahawks playoff possibilities take a hit

Posted by Danny O'Neil

Detroit scored 14 points in the final 5 minutes and then blocked a 65-yard field-goal attempt on the game's final play to beat Oakland 28-27. That result has a profound effect on the Seahawks' playoff chances.

I was hoping the Raiders would win this one. Great artical that lays out everything that has to happen for the Hawks to make the playoffs.

5 out of the last 6 is pretty impressive.

Super Bowl Trivia

Posted 2/5/2012 1:17:00 PM

Click and drag under the Questions to see the Answers.

Q: Where was the first Super Bowl held?

A: Super Bowl I was held in Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles on Jan. 15, 1967. The Green Bay Packers beat the Kansas City Chiefs, 35-10.

Q: Which NFL team has played in the most Super Bowls?

A: The Pittsburgh Steelers and Dallas Cowboys have each played in 8 of them. The Steelers have won six of those games (also a Super Bowl record). The Cowboys have a 5-3 record.

Q: Which NFL teams have never played in the Super Bowl?

A: The Cleveland Browns, Detroit Lions, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Houston Texans.

Q: How many Super Bowls have the Patriots been in, including Super Bowl XLVI? How about the Giants?

A: This is New England's 7th trip to the Super Bowl. It's New York's 5th trip.

Q: Super Bowl XLVI is a rematch of Super Bowl XLII between the Patriots and the Giants. Can you name the other Super Bowl rematches (hint: there are four other sets of teams)?

A: The Cowboys and the Steelers collided in Super Bowls X, XIII, and XXX. The Steelers won the first two; Dallas won Super Bowl XXX.

The Cowboys and the Buffalo Bills played in consecutive years in Super Bowls XXVII and XXVIII. Dallas won both games.

The San Francisco 49ers and the Cincinnati Bengals met in Super Bowls XVI and XXIII. The 49ers won both games.

The Miami Dolphins and the Washington Redskins tangled in Super Bowls VII and XVII. They split the series.

Q: Who holds the Super Bowl record for most rushing yards in a game?

A: Timmy Smith of the Redskins ran for 204 yards and two touchdowns in Super Bowl XXII against the Denver Broncos. Pretty amazing, considering that he only ran for 602 yards and three touchdowns in his entire NFL career.

Q: Who is the only player to earn the Super Bowl MVP honor from the losing team?

A: Linebacker Chuck Howley of the Cowboys won the MVP award after his team lost to the Baltimore Colts in Super Bowl V, 16-13.

Q: What was the biggest blowout in Super Bowl history?

A: The 49ers beat the Broncos in Super Bowl XXIV, 55-10. Ouch.

Q: What was the closest game in Super Bowl history?

A: The Giants beat the Bills, 20-19, in Super Bowl XXV. Bills kicker Scott Norwood missed a field goal as time expired. Interestingly, the Giants' defensive coordinator that year was Bill Belichick while the team's wide receivers coach was Tom Coughlin.

There has never been an overtime game in Super Bowl history.

Q: Madonna will be performing the halftime show at Super Bowl XLVI. Who performed the halftime show in Super Bowl I?

A. The Universities of Arizona and Michigan bands. There were no reported wardrobe malfunctions.

Patriots Super Bowl XLVI Championship T-Shirts Likely Already on Their Way to Third-World Countries

There is a world where Tom Brady polished off his fifth Lombardi Trophy on Sunday, the Patriots went 19-0 in the 2007 season and Eli Manning is still toiling in big brother Peyton's shadow.

That world is any one of a number of impoverished nations that receive the premade hats and T-shirts prepared for teams that ultimately lose the big game. Nicaragua received a huge shipment of Patriots championship merchandise after the Giants defeated the previously unbeaten Pats in Super Bowl XLII, according to ESPN. People in third-world countries also received more than 15,000 shirts proclaiming the Bears Super Bowl XLI champions, according to Mental Floss.

LOL, Antonio Cromartie needs to slow his roll. The Jets have a lot of talent around Sanchez, the problem was defensively they weren't very good and offensively Sanchez isn't a) good when playing from behind and b) isn't really a put the team on his shoulders kind of QB like a Brady, Rogers, Brees. Sanchez needs a play action passing game to be effective and you can't do that when your defense is giving up field position,  time of possession and TDs instead of FGs the last quarter of the season.

2012 NFL Draft

Posted 4/26/2012 7:38:00 PM

With the #15 pick in the 2012 draft (traded down from #12 for a 4th and 7th) the Seattle Seahawks Select. (drum roll here)

Bruce Irvin, WV.

Bruce who?

http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/draft/prospect?prospectId=556310

It's possible few players helped themselves more at the NFL combine than Irvin, who turned heads with his blazing 40-yard dash time of 4.50 seconds - easily the fastest of any player listed as a defensive end. Irvin's future could lie as a pass-rushing end in a 4-3 defense, although he may profile better as an outside linebacker in a 3-4 set. Either way, quarterbacks will want to keep an eye on him after he racked up 22 1/2 sacks in 26 career games at West Virginia, finally coming into his own after some rocky times during his teenage years. Irvin never finished high school and even spent some time in a juvenile detention center before earning his GED and attending junior college, then making the most of his opportunity in Morgantown. If NFL teams are convinced his off-the-field problems are in the past, Irvin's impressive rise could result in a first-round selection, although he's not without some football-related doubts. He doesn't have much experience stopping the run, and he'd likely need to add significant weight to be an every-down player in the front seven. Irvin's tremendous speed and athleticism, though, give him a great chance to make an immediate impact on passing downs at the next level, and he looks like an attractive early-round option for a club emphasizing increased pressure on opposing quarterbacks.

Try as I might to keep a "glass half full" perspective (see Washington Huskies thread) I have to say this pick gives me nothing but a "glass completely empty" feeling. This is the worst draft pick in franchise history. Yes, even including Mirer and The Boz. I watched last night's first round and was on the edge of my seat when pick #15 came up. I was thinking, hoping, for the stud O.G. from Stanford Decastro when Bruce Irvin was announced. They could have picked this guy up in the 3rd round and perhaps as late as the 4th round. The Seahawks front office along with Pete Christmas Carroll have no idea of how to run a draft. A stupid move that just buried the Hawks even deeper in the cellar of the NFC West. It will take years to recover from this move. Mr. Allen, please fire them all.

Okung and Carpenter have been working out...... (sarcasm)

Christmas does a better job picking in the later portion of the draft. He has no idea what he is doing in the 1st round; BUT Seattle has a recent history of 1st round busts.

Chris Spencer
Kelly Jennings
Lawrence Jackson
Aaron Curry
Russell Okung
James Carpenter

They are not 1st rounders paid 1st round wages. Kinda why Seattle is a perrenial loser.

Earl Thomas is pretty good though
