I still say that you laid a good case out last week for using the T.R.O.G.S. for the final rankings.

Oroville a TTW after almost being shutout against Brewster, and Brewster not there. Either put 'em both on or drop Oroville and put Brewster on.

There you to go..

T.R.O.G.S don't show too much.  How tough is the Pacific?  Naselle leads in almost both groups why? Competition.

Agreed, but this year (to me anyway) seems to fit how the trogs played out.

We'll see how really good Naselle is in a few weeks.  They were about as good as Adna, Napavine, and South Bend last season.  They lost to us in the cross overs last year 21-0.  I was at that game and we were serously pumped up for that game.  Had we played down just a tad or the ball went one way vs. the other OR had Eaton stayed with the run the entire game vs. bailing from it early, it certainly could have been a different outcome.

What am I getting at?  Adna, Napavine, Naselle or South Bend could have won the state title last year.  South Bend just happened to be the team that did it.  Point two; Naselle is better than they were last year along with Adna and MWP.  Pvine I'm  still a little confused about.  I think they will infact cruise to the Semi's to battle it out with either my Pirates, MWP or Naselle.
Point 3; Colfax's dream teams graduated and essentially an entire new team is on the field.  There last years jv team is this years varsity almost across the board.  I still think the top four teams in the state reside in D4 with Colfax (I've already laid that case out) and W/P a very close 5 and 6 or one could lump them in the middle of the four somewhere.

If you have those teams thrown in with South Bend last year, you might as well put Concrete, Tacoma Baptist and Willapa Valley as well.

Missing a pair of Cougars from at least the TTW list!

Warden and White Swan will both give teams a run. Warden's only losses are at Lind-Ritzville in OT, and at White Swan. Don't know much about White Swan, but they're probably better than average.

No. As always, we need to be careful not to compare scores to judge how good a team is but more so compare match-ups.  That's a difficult thing to accomplish so we end up doing the former.  Regular season games as a variable should be excluded, especially the earlier games.  Later performances are better for comparing purposes.  South Bend played Colfax at about the same level as they did the 1A/2B North league games.

Remembering that

Adna vs. Naselle (crossover game) 21-0 (D4)
Adna vs. Napavine (first round) 44-35 (D4)
South Bend vs. 1A/2B North team. 27-10
South Bend vs. Napavine (quarters) 16-7 (D4)
South Bend vs.  1A/2B North (semi's) 28-12
South Bend vs. Colfax (Title) 28-8

Bottom line is all the D4 games last year in the playoffs could have gone either way.  They were great games to watch that weren't settled till late in the fourth where as the other west side games were fairly clear early on how they were going to pan out.  D4 is hands down the most competitive district in the state.

True UM, but the playoff format rewards only the best team on a given day. If it were a two out of three scenario I would bet the farm on D4.

I kinda agree with UM, if Colfax is even in the top 3  from the eastside with everything they lost that's not saying alot for the east.  I think this years Naselle team is better than last years South Bend team.  They put up 40+ on Valley at Valley in the 1st half, nuff said.

So...Naselle from the westside and Colfax or WP from the eastside in a ONE game winner take all...ya never know what can happen.

does Colfax have a chance at beating W-P?  they only beat them by a td last year and most of that team is gone compared to what W-P brought back.

W/P has squeaked out some wins that should have been won in a dominating manner.  They should be great by now but they're just a darn good football team.

Colfax has arguably the best coach in the 2B's which will always keep them in the hunt but their dream teams of '09 and '10 have graduated.  I'm beginning to think Colfax is just a darn good football team as well but nothing more along with W/P.

2B hit the nail on the head with his single elimination comment.  I don't care who's hot and who's got the potential for it, the bottom line is winner moves on and loser straps on bball sneakers. Simple in context but brutally truthful.  That little truth in itself is enough to throw Desales, Colfax and W/P in the conversation for the state title along with the 4 D4 teams....

Colfax has the best coach??  You did watch the championship game last year right?  I'm still scratching my head about his game plan.

"Colfax has arguably the best coach in the 2B's....."

That opinion is shared by a few coaches out there.  The guy puts coaching clinics on.  He was very successful in the 1A's and hasn't done too shabby in the 2B's since his advent in '09.  When a guy looks at it like that, he hasn't finished a year worst than playing for the state title in the 2B's.  No doubt it'll be his turn soon enough.

But your right '93, there's some dandies out there. I'm kind of partial to what we have here in Adna and several cases could be laid out for others but I can almost guarantee he's on just about every ones top ten list.

yeah, he's obviously a great coach but he's also had plenty of talent to work with.  if he wins it this year I'll say he's arguably the best coach in the 2b's.

UM

How do you compare the match ups if you haven't seen all the teams play?  Did you see all of the teams in the Final 16 play last year??

And if you go by like match ups, does that mean South Bend Shuts Out Adna?
