Had my fishing gear on for this one. Had about 35 minutes of no rain in the middle of the event.......was good while that lasted...me soaked all the way....lol

I hear there was no rain in Raymond finally for a track meet but still cold?  Looked like there were a lot of PR's especially in the throws.

Into the 70's next week in the Yakima Valley...I'll believe it when I feel it. Fresh snow on the foothills just a mile from my house this morning! Good luck to everyone this weekend. Stay healthy and enjoy every minute of your experience.

Trophy offered at tri-district meet

The Weisel-Henrie Trophy will be awarded to the winner of the Willapa Harbor Tri-District Track Meet, scheduled for Thursday at Raymond.

Named in memory of former longtime South Bend coach Don Weisel and ex-Raymond and Willapa Valley coach Jim Henrie, the traveling trophy will be awarded to the school with the best combined male and female team total. Weisel and Henrie each died within the past year.


From the Daily World.

The PA announcer referred to the 1st Annual Tri-District Track Meet. Might have only been talking about the trophy. So, I have been wrong before. Maybe someone can clarify. Ron

We've been doing the tri-district meet for many years, but this year was the first year that there was a trophy given to the winner.  Lots of good performances yesterday.  It was nice of the weather to cooperate for once this year.

WV boys and girls both placed 2nd at the (Naselle) Comet classic last week...not too bad considering both teams were "shorthanded"  I think we're off for Spring Break this week.

We finished 3rd (boys) and 4th (girls), although we weren't that short handed. The only athlete missing who may have scored high was Katrina Ege who has a back injury and hasn't competed or practiced since Tri-district on April 5th. But a good team showing none the less with 11 boys and 12 girls competing.
