OMG, I agree with Honcho? Surreal...

You could take it as racist but you have to take it that way as it isn't in the actual words nor is the context racist. Seriously, you'll let the Chinese play after the Tibetan crackdown but African (including Arab, Berber and European colonists’ descendents) puns are racist? Priorities and scale people.
 
I would also speculate that just perhaps a blond Greek might have a little more sensitive considered take on ethnic/racial mixing than perhaps the majority of ethnically monolithic Olympic officials.

Another site I post on had a Olympics discussion thread in the  "Just Converstation" forum where this and a couple other similar things were brought up and the mods moved  the thread  to the  "HotZone", a debate forum. Some of the  posters were talking about whether the thread should have been moved so I posted in irony:

Do we look for faux racism so we don't have to acknowledge real racism and our role in it? Cuz I mean man barring Papachristou because of her use of the word "African" is an insult to real true blood racist. I'm sure there are Clansmen out there scratching their flea ridden scalps over calling that rasist.
