Who won the Gold Ball Last Year? According to the WIAA program I bought at the dome, Asotin beat Napavine. The team pics in the program are so small you can't even see them ( 3x4 in ).

Yeah, I was at the game, I seem to remember Asotin staging a late comeback and upsetting poor Napavine. That's what happened, right?

I guess the WIAA was so used to putting an eastside team in the championship column they forgot a westside team actually won the gold ball, and it wasn't Willapa Vallley.

It doesn't surprise me. I not a big fan of the WIAA anyway. To much money being wasted on stupid stuff like renting the dome(it aint that cool). If we as Bsports people were smart we would take care of play offs and such are self. The teams playing would play at a predetermined location most likely a collage campus that we would pay for out of the gate, the rest of the money would be given to the two programs that played in the game. They don't even give the kids a patch, but you can purchase 1 from the WIAA web sight for $49.95. Were does all the money go?

Wasted on printing schedules that are wrong!!!

I encourge all to quit drinking milk, and not buy tires from Les.

Napavine Snubbed By Revisionist Historians

Anyone who picked up a copy of the WIAA's State Football Championships program this weekend at the Tacoma Dome may have caught something a bit fishy in the 2B section.

Under the 2B Football Past Champions headline, there's a list of the championship team from each year since 1973, with the team's coach and the runner-up, along with the score of the title game.

In 2008, according to the program, Asotin and coach Salvador Lopez beat Napavine 28-24 in the championship game.

(Side note: For anyone finding this post extremely confusing, Napavine beat Asotin in an instant-classic game in the State 2B Football Championships last December, 28-24, with two lead changes in the final 44 seconds.)

Thats really BS! someone at wiaa should lose there job over that one.
No excuse. They obviously had Asotin printed as the winner pre.................
