EDWALL, Washington - Sea-Tac 2008 League Preview & Projection

2007 Finish Overall League

1. Seattle Lutheran 7-3 6-0
2. Christian Faith 5-4 3-2
3. Evergreen Lutheran 4-5
4. Quilcene 1-3 1-3
5. Chief Leschi 0-8 0-5

2008 Projected Finish

1. Tacoma Baptist
2. Seattle Lutheran
3. Christian Faith
4. Evergreen Lutheran
5. Chief Leschi
6. Quilcene

With the addition of Tacoma Baptist to the Sea-Tac league, the Crusaders have all but sealed a league championship every year for as long as they remain in the league. No current Sea-Tac team has ever won a playoff game. The closest any Sea-Tac team has come in a playoff game was last season when Seattle Lutheran lost to Naselle 42-7. Unless things change in the Sea-Tac league, Tacoma Baptist will have an avenue to the playoffs for as long as they are a part of the league. Tacoma Baptist has been traditionally strong team in the 2B’s and the 1A’s making the playoffs 14 out of the 18 years the school has had football , competing three times in the state championship. In just the past three years Tacoma Baptist has had two Division I recruits Josh Bousman (University Of Idaho) and Neil Boyce (Montana State). Tacoma Baptist returns only one all-league player in senior defensive linemen Josh Mitchell.

2007 Finish Overall League

Life Christian 11-3 4-2

The Life Christian Eagles head into the 2008 season under new head coach Todd Corrigan. Corrigan inherits a team that will do some serious damage in 2008. The Eagles return 5 starters on the offensive side of the ball, and seven starters on the defensive side. Running back Morgan Cox is back and has the ability to put up player of the year numbers. Cox ran for 1,633 yards and 18 touchdowns as a junior, and will be projected to go over 2,000 yards this season. Junior Quarterback Barrett Schmidtke is back as well. Schmidtke had a great sophomore year throwing for close to 2,000 yards and 16 touchdowns. His favorite target Jeffrey Riegle is back as well. The Eagles have some big holes to fill on the offensive and defensive line for graduating Jon Donner, and John Mathews. On the defensive side of the ball is where Morgan Cox will shine also. Cox should lead the team in tackles from the middle linebacker position. Depth could be an issue for the Eagles. Barring any injuries to skill position player Life Christian has the ability to go deep into the playoffs
