Parsons leads Wildcats over the Hawks

EAGAN, Minnesota - EAGAN, Minnesota – In front of a large homecoming crowd, the Eagan Wildcats defeated the Chaska Hawks by a score of 25- 8 Friday night. The Wildcats dominated the 1st half and used a ball control offense to maintain control until the end. They were led by sophomore quarterback Jameson Parsons who finished the game 14 of 22 for 197 yards and 2 scores. He also ran for a touchdown.
Eagan got on the board first when Greg Seely hit a 29 yard field goal in the 1st quarter. They extended the lead when Parsons ran for his touchdown later in the quarter. Eagan was able to convert a 2-point conversion and led 11-0 at the end of one quarter.
Parsons threw both of his touchdowns in quarter 2 as he connected on passes of 13 yards and 15 yards to tight end Adam Carl. Carl ended the evening with 3 catches for 39 yards and Eagan led 25-0 at the half.
Eagan played ball control throughout the 2nd half and Chaska was not able to convert enough plays to chip into the Eagan lead. Chaska did get on the board with 4:07 left to play when backup quarterback Mike Geissler hit Derrick Engle on a 4 yard connection. Engle also caught the 2 point conversion for the final score of 25-8.
The win is Eagan’s first in the conference this year and improves their record to (1-3, 2-3 overall). They will travel to Bloomington to play at Kennedy next week in another Lake conference match.
The loss drops Chaska to (1-4, 1-4). The Hawks will play at home next weekend against Eastview.
