MINNETONKA, Minnesota - The last time the Henry Sibley Warriors and Minnetonka Skippers met on the basketball floor, the Skippers walked off the floor with the 2008 Minnesota state boys basketball championship.

This time, however, with much less on the line, it was the Warriors walking off the floor with the victory.

Maurice Hernandez scored a game-high 30 points as the Warriors defeated the Minnetonka Skippers by a final score of 90-76 on Tuesday night in Minnetonka.

Henry Sibley jumped out to an 11-2 lead en route to a 19-point halftime lead, 48-29. Hernandez was the catylist for the Warriors, scoring 17 first-half points.

In the second half, Henry Sibley increased their lead to a game-high 22 points, but Minnetonka was able to mount a comeback halfway through the half. The Skippers were able to cut the lead to just eight points with eight minutes to play, but could not cut the deficet any further. Henry Sibley's lead would eventually swell back to 14 points, which is what the final margin
of victory ended up as.

Along with Hernandez' 30 points for Henry Sibley, Mike Bruesewitz added 16 points for the Warriors, as well as 15 points for Chris Halvorsen and 13 for Jake Krueser.

Cole Stefan lead all Skippers in points with 21, followed by Kyle Risinger's 20 points and Taylor
Nelson's 15.

MSBN will be covering both of these teams next on December 27, when both teams will play in the annual Bethel holiday basketball tournament on the campus of Bethel University in St. Paul.
