Bi-County Championships Set
Lind-Ritzville and Colfax girls, NWC and Davenport boys advance

COLFAX, WA - An exciting semifinal night in Colfax set the stage for Friday’s Bi-County Championship games.

In girls’ semifinal action it was Lind-Ritzville and Colfax both using strong second halves to pull away to double digit victories. Lind-Ritzville knocked off Davenport for the first time in four tries this year 49-37. Emmy Bouwman and Cassie Cole knocked down a combined four 4th quarter three pointers to help the Broncos pull away.

The Colfax Lady Bulldogs routed Liberty 57-33 on their home court to advance to meet the Broncos in tomorrow night’s championship.

The girls’ championship can be heard live on Bsports Channel 1 with the pregame show starting at 5:40.
In boys’ action the Davenport Gorillas were bolstered by a dominating inside performance by 6’9” senior Morgan Scharff to knock off Lind-Ritzville 55-53. Scharff scored a game high 24 points, while Jared Gunning added 13 and Taylor Morgan 9 for the Gorillas. It was Davenport’s third win over Lind-Ritzville this season.

The Gorillas will face Northwest Christian in the championship game, as the Crusaders routed Reardan 57-31 in the nightcap at Colfax High School. Senior Matt Zandbergen led the way for NWC with 10 points. The Crusaders improved to 21-0 in the season with the victory.

Friday’s boys’ championship can be heard live on Bsports Channel 1 with the pregame set to kick off at 7:10.

Bsports will air bonus coverage of the 5th Place boys game between Liberty and Colfax. That game is loser out-winner to districts and will air live at 4:10 on Bsports Channel 1.
