The development of internet broadcast technology makes it very easy for teams to have their games broadcast all over the world--either through live audio (radio) or live video (television).

TEAM Sports has been broadcasting sports in eastern Jackson County of Kansas City, Missouri since January of 2000. Just estimating, but that's about 1400 games.

We got lucky. The development of the internet and the ability for audio and video to be streamed live online gives broadcasters like us a new venue for our work which until now had been primarily based on cable television or local radio.

Internet broadcasting gives every team, who until now wouldn't get a sniff from commercial broadcast industry, the ability to reach their fans. And, in our experience, those fans could be anywhere in the world.

Quick story: one night during the 2008-09 basketball season, we received email during a William Jewell College doubleheader from upstate New York, central Florida, Paris, France, and Australia. All listening live.
