ANDOVER, MN - The Osseo Orioles (0-2, 0-2) led after their opening drive in the first quarter, but the Andover Huskies (2-0, 2-0) marched back for two first quarter scores of their own to take the lead and hold it on to it for the remainder of the game. Both Andover touchdowns were scored off receptions by senior wide receiver Jason Schneider, who finished the game with 9 receptions for 88 yards and three TD catches on the night. Senior Huskies running back Brad Beeskow scored on a 25-yard carry to give Andover a 20-7 lead in the second quarter (sophomore kicker Tyler McLaughlin’s extra point was no good on the score). This was the score at the half, 20-7.

Andover’s biggest lead of the of the game was 34-7 at the end of the third quarter, but Osseo made things interesting by scoring 24 points in the final stanza to get the lead down to as little as 10; with the final score ending at 41-31 Andover the victors. In that fourth quarter for Osseo, junior wide receiver Jameer Jackson caught two touchdown catches and finished the game with 19 receptions for 181 yards and the two TD’s. Osseo senior quarterback Travis Kreuter finished the game 28 for 63, for 372 yards, with three touchdowns and four interceptions. As Andover junior quarterback finished the game with a line of 20 for 30, for 213 yards and four touchdowns.

With the victory, Andover moves to 2-0 overall and in the Northwest Suburban Conference. With the loss, Osseo falls to 0-2 overall and in the NWSC. Next week, Andover travels to Centennial to play on Friday, September 18th at 7:00 pm. While Osseo hosts Elk River on Friday, September 18th at 5:00 pm.
