CONCRETE, WA - Opening weekend for the rifle brought back some great stories including the one of Naselle's homecoming queen, Nicole Laney, bagging her first deer just a little after being crowned on Saturday and giving her just enough time to re-do her make-up and hair for the dance. Husky fans were not so lucky after staying up a big past 10:00 PM to see that your local high school coach isn't the only one that doesn’t know how to manage the game clock at the end of the game or your local secondary isn't the only ones to blow coverage at the end of the game, so life is good across the state. Keep the sites on the target whether that is the Gold Ball or a 4X4 mule deer bedded down in the grass.

Point Guard's Weekend Observations -

1) The Seahawks look great against terrible teams and terrible against good teams.

2) The Phillies outscored the Eagles yesterday 11-9.

3) Mitchell Kennedy booted 2 FG's for LaSalle - The year of the kicker continues.

4) Waitsburg-Prescott has taken a step closer to league dominance.

5) Election season is right around the corner. Do not forget to vote.

6) The Huskies need to win 3 of 4 games to get a bowl bid.

7) La Salle has all three of the sports teams ranked in the top ten. The most favored to win the Gold Ball? Yes, the futbol team of the Lady Lightning.

2B Football Rankings

1) Colfax (6-0) - Getting plenty of playing time for their bench right now. Next Game - vs North Central JV

2) Adna (7-0) - Had to strap the helmets up against the Vikings but prevailed. Good test for the Pirates. Next Game - vs. BYE

3) Asotin (7-0) - Had a good tune-up game for their battle to decide the league title. Next Game - vs #6 Waitsburg-Prescott

4) La Salle (7-0) - The Lightning wrapped up the league title with another shut-out. Next Game - @ Liberty Bell

5) Tacoma Baptist (7-0) - League Title on the line for the Crusaders. Next Game - vs. Seattle Lutheran

6) Waitsburg-Prescott (6-0) - One big win down, another to go. Can the Cardinals keep moving forward? Next Game - @ Asotin

7) Willapa Valley (6-1) - The Vikings are back and with the tough part of their schedule behind them should be able to heal for a run in the playoffs. Next Game - vs Chief Leschi

8) Napavine (5-2) - Are they back? Did Coach Fay fix the flat? Next Game - @ Pe Ell

9) South Bend (5-2) - A final tune-up for the battle with Naselle for the #2 seed. Next Game - vs Ocosta

10) Orcas Island (5-2) - Look to win the outright league title with a big match up with the Lions. Next Game - vs. Concrete
