LAKEVILLE, MN - Garret Walters returned the opening kickoff 84 yards for a Burnsville TD. On the ensuing drive, Gavin Duecker found Dan Noehring for a 56 yard TD reception to tie the game at 6.

From there, the defenses took over. The Blaze were unable to get a first down until midway into the 2nd quarter and the Cougars drives would stall near the Blaze 20.

In the 4th quarter, Dan Noehring returned a Blaze punt 45 yards for a touchdown. He then caught the 2 pt conversion pass from Duecker and the Cougars led 14-6. Noehring then intercepted a Cameron Jones pass. The Cougars attempted a 24 yard field goal, but Josh Treimer blocked the kick and returned it to the Cougar 29.

However, Noehring stepped up again. On 3rd down, he intercepted a pass and returned it 80 yards for a score and the Cougars were up 20-6. On the kickoff, Francois Thompkins flashed his speed and returned it 93 yards for a touchdown.

The Cougars recovered the onside kick to hold on to win.
