KANSAS CITY, MO - The Kansas City Stars Midwest High School Hockey League Varsity team, with a pair of wins over Ames in the final weekend of the regular season, shot past the Mason City Mohawks into third place in the final varsity MHSHL standings. They will start their tournament run on Friday at the Ames/ISU Ice Arena, with a scheduled start time of 2:00 p.m.

If they win, the Stars will face the winner of the Kansas City Junior Outlaws and Sioux City Metros, who play immediately following the Stars and Warriors. That game would take place on Saturday with a scheduled start time of noon. A win in the semifinals would them propel the Stars into the finals against the winner of the Des Moines Capitals, Mason City, Sioux Falls, and Des Moines Oak Leafs bracket on Sunday scheduled at 2:00 p.m.

The top seeded JV squad will attempt their run the following weekend with games Friday, Saturday, and Sunday as well.

Of course, all 6 Stars games in the tournament will be carried live right here.
