COTTAGE GROVE, MN - The White Bear Lake Bears (2-2 overall, 2-2 Suburban East Conference) used a strong rushing attack led by Senior Running Back Matt Glasgow to a 40-21 victory over the Park Wolfpack (0-4, 0-4 SEC). The cool and windy evening marked Homecoming for the Wolfpack of Cottage Grove, Minnesota, but that did not stop a great crowd from enjoying a Friday night of football at home.
Glasgow scored on three 1st Half Touchdowns and one late 4th Quarter Touchdown to lead the way for the Bears. It was 27-0 Bears at the end of the 1st Half with Junior Fullback Joe Nesvik scoring the other Touchdown for White Bear Lake. Matt Glasgow was named our MSBN Player of the Game for the Bears with well over 150 yards rushing and those four scores.
The Park Wolfpack saw a spark in their offense, thanks to Sophomore Running Back Dylan Smallidge, who rushed for over 130 yards and had three Touchdowns himself to get the Homecoming crowd in a frenzy late in the game. White Bear Lake actually had to bring their first string offense back into the game when the Wolfpack cut the score to 33-21 in the 4th Quarter. Smallidge's performance earned him Player of the Game honors for Park in the game.
Park will take on the Cretin-Derham Hall Raiders next Friday, October 1st and White Bear Lake will travel to Forest Lake next Friday to take on the Rangers in a game that you can see right here on MnSportsNetwork.com!
