LAKEVILLE, MN - The Lakeville South Cougars welcomed the Bloomington Jefferson Jaguars to homecoming 2010. The Cougar football team was not so welcoming, however. They scored on their opening drive on a TD pass from QB Mitch Liedner to TE Caleb Segar. On the ensuing kick-off, the Jaguars fumbled and the Cougars scored on the very next play. This time Liedner found WR Matt Heller at the 5, and Heller leaped over a down defender for the 2nd Cougar TD of the night.

Liedner finished with 6 TD passes, with running back DJ Hillier getting 2 and also Devon Bzoskie getting in the mix.

The Jaguars fell behind 35-0 before showing some life. At that point, in the 2nd quarter, the Jefferson squad ran a 3 play 51 yard drive capped by a 30 yard Trey Blanchard touchdown run for their first score of the game. Then, after holding the Cougars to a three and out, they had their best drive of the night. 10 plays covering 57 yards, capped this time by a 1 yard Ryan Siiro run. On the drive, Ryan Siiro caught his own pass. On the first play of the drive, Siiro rolled to his right and threw downfield to his receiver. It deflected off his own player, and Siiro caught up to it. It ended up as a 9 yard pass to Siiro from Siiro.

Then, with 49 seconds left in the half and the Lakeville South lead at 35-12, the Cougars tried a 2 minute offense. However, Logan Dopp intercepted Liedner and set the Jaguars up at the Cougar 25. The Cougar defense prevented further damage, stopping the Jaguars.

MSBN Players of the game:

Lakeville South: Mitch Liedner 6 TD passes
Bloomington Jefferson: Andre Rowell 1 TD rushing, but carrying the offense on several drives.
