EAGAN, MN - The Rosemount Irish (8-0, 8-0 South Suburban Conference) get a big road victory tonight thanks to five rushing Touchdowns by three different Irish players. Seniors Nick Liska and Kevin Larson scored three combined TDs in the 1st Half with Liska, the running back, hitting pay dirt for the first or third scores of the half. The Quarterback Larson ran his in from 3-yards out and with a 2-point Conversion run by Junior RB Logan Lindberg it was 15-0 Irish. This 22-0 lead in the first half was quickly flipped as the Eagan Wildcats (4-4, 4-4 SSC) mounted their own comeback. The offense was one sided with the passing game behind Junior QB Drew Bauer moving the chains for the Wildcats. Senior Wide Receiver Matt Hentges caught a 8-yard Touchdown to break the shutout and get Eagan on the board. This TD sparked the Eagan defense and forced Rosemount three-and-out and a weak punt gave Eagan great field position. This defensive stop inspired the Eagan offense and on the first play of the drive, Drew Bauer connected on a 29-yard reception to Hentges down to the 2 yard line. Bauer then dove in from that 2 yard line and made it a 22-14 game at the half.

The 2nd half was a dominant showing of defense and rushing the ball for the Irish as Senior running back Andrew Hausmann added two more rushing Touchdowns and the Irish went onto victory 35-14. Hausmann also kicked five kickoffs for touchbacks to earn our MSBN Player of the Game honors for the Irish. The touchdown and big reception for Matt Hentges garnered the award for the Wildcats. Section playoffs will be next Tuesday, October 26th here on MSBN. Check the MSBN Full Schedule for updates.
