Davradio and the North Texas Sports Network Enter 10th Year of Broadcasting RISD

2011 begins the 10th season that Davradio Productions and the North Texas Sports Network have been broadcasting Richardson Independent Schools Sports, from football to basketball to even baseball. The RISD has been a part of the small company that has expanded to cover college and professional sporting events in the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex.

The year kicks off with Richardson Pearce taking on Lake Dallas at Eagle/Mustang Stadium with Dave Michaels coming in for his 10th year at the microphone, joining Dave in the booth for his 5th season is Frank “Doc” Moorefield, who will handle the color analyst duties, joined by 8 year veteran for engineering Brian Pitts, and stats will be Elecia O’Hearn.

When asked, what was his fondest memory over the last 10 years, Michaels said “there are a couple that stand out, the first time that his crew were able to broadcast from Texas Stadium for a playoff game between Richardson Berkner and Dallas Carter, only to repeat that a couple of years later with different results, and of course getting the opportunity to broadcast playoff games with my own ala-mater involved Skyline, in both football and basketball”, he goes on to say about how it was enjoyable to watch some of the young men and women in their sports go on to Division I Colleges, and even in some cases make their way into professional sports. (Frank Okham- Lake Highlands, University of Texas, now with the Houston Texans, Ugo Chinasa- Berkner just finished with Oklahoma State, just to name a few)

Highlighting this season will be the annual rivalry game between Richardson High School and J J Pearce, then in October, when Pearce host Highland Park, the annual battle for the Bone Yard will not be on this years schedule for the first time in 9 years, since it is the same night as the Mustangs game against the Scots.

Basketball will be on the docket when winter comes around—beginning in January, with Doc and Dave once again at the microphones.
