EDEN PRAIRIE, Minnesota - The Eden Prairie Eagles defeated the Champlin Park Rebels tonight by a final score of 24-7 in both teams' opening games in a battle of top 10 teams.
the two teams traded scores early, with the Eagles scoring the first touchdown of the game, followed by a touchdown by the Rebels early in the second quarter. The Eagles then added a field goal near the end of the first have to take a 10-7 lead into the locker room.
In the second half, the Eagles defense was too much for the rebels offense. Andrew Larson, the MSBN player of the game for EP, scored a 79-yard touchdown in the middle of the third quarter to spread the lead out to 24-7, which was the eventual final score.
Anthony hill was the player of the game for the rebels, contributing on both sides of the football, and playing well in the stifling heat.
Eden Prairie will now host Bloomington Kennedy next week, while Champlin Park will host Maple Grove.
