CLARKSTON, Georgia - Stephenson got the scoring started when their vaunted defense forced a fumble that was recovered by Carlos Hood. The Jaguars went right down the field with Mike Davis punching it in from 3 yards out for the touchdown but missed the extra point and led 6-0.
Cedar Grove junior quarterback Jonathan McCrary was the states second-leading passer in 2010 and looked to counter his teams early mistake but made one of his own on when Raphael Kirby picked him off across the middle and returned it 35 yards weaving his way to the end zone for a Stephenson 13-0 lead. From that point forward it was all Stephenson. McCrary would throw two touchdowns in the contest.
Much talk has been about the quarterback situation at Stephenson as to whether it was good enough to match up with the other talent that is on the Jaguar roster. Justin Holman stepped up big as he cashed in on opportunities that he presented with.Holman threw an 80-yard touchdown pass and a 35-yard touchdown pass off of play-action, which was set up by the fine running of Mike Davis who is a Florida signee. Stephenson went on to win 41-14
