LIHU'E, Hawaii - The last time the Kapa'a Warriors won a Kauai Interscholastic Federation Championship was back in 1989. Monday night the 22 year wait came to an end as junior varsity place kicker Jonathan Paleka, who was called up to the the varsity team kicked a 27 yard field goal with nine seconds left to lift the Warriors to a 17-14 win over the Waimea Menehune at a packed Vidinha Stadium.

The Kapa'a Warriors (7-3) will now host the Pearl City Chargers (9-1) at Vidinha Stadium this Saturday at 4:30pm in a HHSAA D2 Football Quarterfinal Game.
