MALL OF AMERICA FIELD, Minnesota - In a game that concluded all 6 Championship games in Prep Bowl XXX - the 4A class did not disappoint.

Both Rocori and Bemidji were making their 5th state appearances and neither team had won a championship.

Bemidji struck 1st on their opening possession when they capped off a 74 yard drive with a Mitchell Hendricks TD pass to Carey Woods for 25 yards (PA good by Kyle Fodness) with 8:58 left in the 1st Quarter. Brandon Larson then intercepted a Nate Meyer pass to give Bemidji the ball back but the Spartan defense held strong and forced the Lumberjacks to punt. Later in the 1st half Bemidji had the ball on the Rocori 43 yard line and on the 1st play the Hendricks pitch to Carey Woods was disrupted by Christian Pedroza and the fumble was recovered by Rocori's Mac Mueller. 9 plays later Pedroza caught his only pass (from Nate Meyer) but it was one that put 6 points on the board and amounted to 27 yards (PA good by Pedroza) tying the game 7-7 with 8:02 left in the 1st half. Both defenses subsequently held opposing offenses to punts. Then with 56 seconds left in the 1st half, Sean Terres intercepted a Hendrick's pass and ran 53 yards for a touchdown (PA good by Pedroza). The half ended with the Spartans ahead 14-7.

Rocori started the 2nd half scoring when they blocked a Mitch Brown punt eventually leading to a 32 yard field goal by Christian Pedroza with 4:20 left in the 3rd quarter. The Spartans led it 17-7.
Bemidji then put a nice drive together starting on their own 20 and then stalled when they failed to punch it in from inside the 5 yard line. Kyle Fodness was sent out to to kick a field goal and he delivered from 29 yards out with 9:13 remaining in the 4th quarter. The score of 17-10 would eventually hold and the Rocori Spartans walked away 4A Champions in Prep Bowl XXX.
