AMES, IA - The Kansas City Jets took off on their Midwest High School Hockey League JV Title defense in convincing fashion with a 8-2 shellacking of Cedar Rapids in the opening round of the championship tournament Friday afternoon at the Ames/ISU Ice Arena.

The Jets opened a 4-0 first period lead and added four more in the second as they controlled every aspect of the game, with 5 even strength goals, 2 power play goals, and a shorthanded goal as well.

Kansas City will have the opportunity to exact a measure of revenge for their varsity squad as they take on Waterloo on Saturday in a 1:15 p.m. scheduled start.
