STANWOOD, Northwest - The Stanwood Spartans were looking for revenge, and to clinch the final spot available for the State tournament, when they took on the Glacier Peak Grizzlies Saturday afternoon. The Grizzlies upset the Spartans in the opening round of the Wesco tournament, forcing the Spartans to have to win three loser out games to get into the State Tournament. Three point shooting from Glacier Peak, gave the Grizzlies a 39-31 lead at the Half. The Spartan defense tightened up in the second half, allowing the Grizzlies only 26 points. Then Spartans got the lead midway through the 4th quarter and held on due to clutch free throw shooting down the stretch, by Quinton Borseth, Bryson Kelly and our NorthSound Physical Therapy Player of the Game Chase Streiby. The Spartans had four players score in double figures led by Quinton Borseth with 16, Bryson Kelly's 15 Chase Streiby's 11 and A.J. Martinka's 11 points. The Spartans will go on to the regional round and play Enumclaw at 12pm at Rogers High School. Tcsn will broadcast the game.
