NEW ORLEANS, LA - It’s the second week of the playoffs, and the Game of the Week features two teams from Division I, as the Archbishop Rummel Raiders take on their district foe, the John Curtis Christian Patriots, at the Shrine on Airline.

The John Curtis Christian Patriots come into this game after securing an opening round bye with the District 9-5A Championship and an undefeated 9-0 record. The Patriots defeated the Raiders in the regular season to all but secure the title, 31-17, just needing to take down Shaw in week 10 to wrap it up. John Curtis has a tenacious defense that has been their cornerstone this season, led by seniors Garrett Wallow and Andres Seymour, as well as junior linebacker Jay Curtis.

The Archbishop Rummel Raiders come into this game with a first round playoff victory over the Jesuit Blue Jays, 24-10. Rummel’s defense shut the Blue Jays down, holding them to 30 yards in the first half. After building a big lead, the Raiders coasted through the second half to bring home a victory. Having lost the first matchup against the Patriots, Rummel comes into this game with a chip on its shoulder, looking to avenge that loss and move on to the semi-finals.

Listen live beginning at 6:40 p.m., on WWL.com, and join the crew of David Kahn (DK) providing the play-by-play, Tony D’Amico (The Ironman) with the color and Joey Bruett cruising the sidelines. This game should be a hard hitting, defensive battle, with Catholic League supremacy at stake.
