Stanwood Boys win 4th at State
Dramatic 62-61 win over Rainier Beach earns Spartan 4th place trophy

STANWOOD, Northwest - The Stanwood Boys Basketball team won 4th place in the State Tournament at the Tacoma Dome. It was a very Dramatic Shot from Senior Bryson Kelly with four Seconds left from the Base line to give the Spartans a 1 point victory, 62-61 over the Rainier Beach Vikings. This was the last High School game for a group of Stanwood Seniors,Byrson Kelly, Chase Strieby, A.J. Martinka, Quinton Borseth, Cameron Plautz, and Austin Wilhonen who all had outstanding careers at Stanwood High School. The Spartans went 3-2 in the State Tournament. loosing to only Garfield and Nathan Hale, the two teams who played in the 3A championship Game. The Spartans defeated Shorecrest, Seattle Prep, and Rainier Beach to earn the 4th place finish,the best in School history,in the State 3A Tournament.
