Stanwood Baseball Team wins big game against Marysville Getchell
Good Pitching and great defense leads the Spartans to a 3-0 shut out of the Marysville Getchell Chargers.

STANWOOD, Northwest - The Stanwood Spartans Baseball team won a must win game Friday shutting out the Marysville Getchell chargers 3-0. The Spartans defense was great with just one error. The Defense was highlighted by a sliding catch by out fielder Brock Wilfong that stole a base hit from the Chargers, and then capped off by a 5-4-3 double play to get the final two outs. Spartan Pitcher Isaac Olson was outstanding, going the distance giving up just 3 hits with 8 K's and zero runs. The Spartans had timely hitting to score 3 runs, Daylen Mcdonald went 1-3 with single and 2 RBI's. Liam Shelly was 1-3 scoring a run. Our NorthSound Physical Therapy Player of the Game was Catcher Trey Tiffany who was outstanding behind the plate and went 1-3 with an RBI double.
The Spartans took 2 out of three games from the Marysville Getchell Chargers and now are in 3rd place in the Wesco North.
